Expect Kanye Leaks Tomorrow! (Or Don’t?)

Kanye posted this cryptic tweet a couple minutes ago. Depending on how seriously you take it, we might hear some new Kanye chunes tomorrow, which will maybe confirm my hunch that Yeezy’s upcoming album is going to be the definitive album of 2010.

Or maybe he’s just kidding. The moral of the story is: if you’re not already following this dude on Twitter, get on it!

Weezer’s New Album Art, Title and Lead Single

I’ve had a rocky ride with Weezer for the past 15 years or so. The thrilling highs, the befuddling lows, and their uncanny ability to do the very thing you least expect them to do at every turn.

Well, they have topped themselves AGAIN, which is staggering after the dog-jumping-across-the-living-room cover of Raditude, and the fact that Rainn Wilson named their last album, and that he named it Raditude, and that Lil Wayne was on the album in a song that Jermaine Dupri co-wrote. Forget all that. The new album is called Hurley (you know, the guy from LOST?), and the album cover is a big, glorious photo of actor Jorge Garcia’s face.

If that’s not mind-boggling enough for you, the lead single, “Memories”, is actually pretty satisfying. Loud, sloppy guitars, scratchy, shouted, emoted vocals, and a searing synthy hook that hearkens back to early b-side “You Gave Your Love to Me Softly.”

You never know what awaits you just around the corner with Weezer, but for now, rejoice in the fact that all the news is great news.

Nicki Minaj Talks to Stuffed Animals, Announces Album Title (Pink Friday)

You heard it first if you were watching Nicki’s live broadcast on ustream. Since her album is dropping the week of “Black Friday”, she will be naming the album (and renaming the day itself, apparently) “Pink Friday”.

She announced the title seconds before switching off the camera, but before the announcement came countless phonecalls to fans, and the added bonus of seeing Nicki talk to and personify two stuffed monkeys. It’s a brave new world out there, folks. Countdown to Pink Friday.
